Happy dogs

Today the family went to visit friends in Aberdeen and so the dogs and I went for a lovely long walk in the Rothiemurchus forest where the old pine trees are majestically tall and straight, which made for a super photo opportunity with the sunlight sending shafts of light through the canopy. On our way into Glen Einich through the forest I passed a couple of lochans so the dogs had plenty opportunity to swim and quench their thirst and we had a fabulous walk lasting about three hours. The heather is usually out at this time of year but this time it is still a few weeks away which is a shame as this part of the world boasts a huge purple swathe once you walk out of the forest into the glens. It is still glorious up here though. Following the walk I managed to find some new waterproof trousers in Aviemore and then back to the timeshare complex for a swim while the dogs relaxed. The family eventually arrived home quite late and the boys had fallen asleep in the car - a quick transfer and they snuggled down in their beds no problem. A very successful day all round.
