Crown of Thorns

I find I really struggle with macro shots. I'm much more comfortable with my long lens. Not sure if it's my eyes, or the wrong equipment, or what - but I took a bunch of pictures with the only things approaching a macro lens that I have and was mostly entirely unpleased with the results, and then took this with the long lens. It's a tiny flower on my Crown of Thorns - which spends the Summer out of doors. 

The extra is an actual macro shot of a part of an old - and huge - yellow jacket nest that The Husband found in a cardboard box last Fall. The only other shot I halfway liked.
