Galactic Kiwi Over the Forest

Wow, what a wonderful starry night out there. It's cold for sure, but approaching midnight the arch of the Milky Way's galactic core is out towards the West, right over the forest here in Blandswood.

The title of this blip refers to the 'Galactic Kiwi' - a small kiwi-shaped area of dust cloud, just underneath the galactic bulge shown here.

It's been a good day; I visited a client in Waimate in the sunshine, taking in the views over their vines out towards the town and the sea. What a great location.

Tonight we had a quiz at the Peel Forest Bar, and our team was lucky enough to take line honours. A good fun night out for sure, with plenty of hilarity.

Also today I had my first photo essay published for a new Fujifilm specific blog, fujifilmcollective.com, which I'm pretty stoked about. Check out my post Maniototo Disintegration (with images taken last weekend down in Central Otago) over on the blog and feel free to share!
