Asnieres sur Vegre

We left Daddy to have a rest this morning and headed to the medieval village of Asnieres sur Vegre. It was very pretty but not a patch on Le Mans. From there we headed to Solesmes, to visit the Benedictine Abbey. We were in time for Sexte and listened to the Sixty odd monks that live there celebrate it in the Gregorian Chant that the Abbey is famous for. Carys thought it was relaxing, Will, surprisingly given his love of music, thought it was boring (maybe it wasn't musical enough for him), but he survived the ten minutes it lasted. The church was at first glance very plain, but the statues were amazing, sadly no photos allowed.

Back home for lunch and more playing/relaxing in the garden then pool.
