Success! Cheese scones... that look like scones. Well near enough for me. Tasted near enough like they should too.

First baking attempt in over a year, and – I'm ashamed to say – first baking since that baking course I did last year. The discovery of just how much fat and sugar goes into so much baking, was something of a surprise. Shock even. Have always liked scones, but previous attempts to make them have always failed – they wouldn't rise, and needed far longer to cook... they were more like rock cakes.

Inspiration today was more desperation – lack of food in the house. Backed up loads of photo stuff, whilst the weather was good. Wanted to go out later, as the rain started, yet again.
