Looking a bit ominous at the Tore grain store - and this is it in full colour. Skies were very moody looking all around, whilst on the early evening wander. More interesting photographically (to me) than uniform blue, or grey. Free fruit galore was enjoyed on the walk:- Whitecurrants (an acquired taste); Blaeberries; and Raspberries - both red, and the less common yellow ones - they're very late this year, but there's plenty of them. Wasn't tempted by the Chanterelles and various other dubious looking fungi.

A very much better day than yesterday. Battery voltage read okay (over 12 Volts), but it wouldn't start the car. Brilliant, in that there shouldn't be a problem proving it's duff... as long as I can make there. Remove battery and fit the - over twelve year old - original one. Car starts no bother. Phew. Off to Alness. Replaced without problems. I was happy to pay a few pounds just to get a better one, though it's still an unknown brand to me. The manufacturers of the faulty one had gone bust, and the majority of the pallet load of their batteries that the shop had sold, had failed. Most of them very much sooner than mine. I did wonder if the shop had bought them for peanuts after the company went kaput, rather than before. New battery in the boot, and head home, still using the really old one.

Quick bite to eat. Could change the battery over, but will leave it with the tools in the boot. Can easily swap it if there's a problem. Head off to a Blipmeet at Rosemarkie. Left it a bit late to cycle along.

A big thank you to Houseonahill6 for organising the Blipmeet, and to all for the good company, blethers and laughs we had. It was great fun to meet you all. Think next time it would be better if I hide behind a camera when your cameras come out though. May even seek revenge and test that ancient film camera on you! To prove that it does work, and on the Film journal.

Best wishes to you all.
