Oh what a tangled web we weave

Thank you very much for all the birthday wishes yesterday and I think the blip seems to have been universally approved, which is good.  I'd hate to offend.

A busy day clearing up and then a discussion with the neighbours to decide what to do about our front and side hedges, which are dying due to scale insect.  Nothing has worked and the only way forward is to grub out the lot and start again with something else.  We'll put a short fence between the houses but the front does need to be a hedge.

This spider was happily sitting in a flower surrounded by its web until a bee disturbed it.  The extra is of butterfly eggs on a nasturtium leaf.
