Damselflies Pairing on Hawthorn

August, and the damselflies are still at it, albeit a little sluggish. This pair didn't fly away as I approached.

I've been too busy to attempt many photos of flying insects this summer. I do love dragon flies

Wide aperture on the lens so a very shallow depth of field, which is why the female is blurred.

Note that the hawthorn berries are ripening fast. Not long until Autumn, already.

Taken during a walk round Charnwood Water with Len and Basil. We did hear steam trains passing on the Great Central Railway but they were concealed by woodland.

Very few water fowl, which is unusual. Perhaps they've flown somewhere else. Only one grown up cygnet with a swan.
