Francis Peak (9,515 feet above sea level)

Francis peak, at an elevation of 9,515 above sea level, is a 25 minute drive from my home, which is at 4,200 feet.

This picture is not actually Francis peak.  It is a nearby peak.  My extra shot is of the monument on the peak and you can see this smaller installation down below and the right.

The peak was named after an early pioneer woman named Esther Francis.  She was expert in mathematics and calculus.  She was an invaluable resource to the early surveyors in this area.

I am glad I got out of bed this morning and took the drive.

What a beautiful day.
