What if?

Red-bellied woodpecker

This, I think, is a juvenal, probably female but I am not at all sure. The adult female has red on the nape of the neck only
and the male has a red cap.. Not very aptly named but we do have a red- headed also whose whole head is red, including the neck and throat.

The extra shows a little American germander (Teucrium canadense) that I found by the roadside this morning. Not as tall as the T. scorodonia that I remember in England (wood sage).
