Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

It's art....

Waiting for us when we returned from a row this morning were POPOVERS! that friend JK made.  Yum!  After that she graciously went on broom patrol with us for the 1 hour that we ask people who are here for a few days.   Then after lunch we got to play in the studio!   and worked on our paper mache pieces —the clay took a few days to dry, then we sanded it, and coated it with gesso, and then used our gelli prints to “paper them”.  Her inspiration was the Japanese video at the Seattle Art museum  of artist Chiho Aoshima,  when she was there last week….It seems an interesting exhibit and these creatures are houses in nature.. but I dunno, they just might grow wings to join the faeries in our forest.  Just need some really waterproof coating for them.     A couple of them in progress in the extras.    Well, we had fun…also made some beads, finger knitting,  and tried to work on the ipad drawing program.   whew….
