Harry Potter

After a day spent only walking we were driving around Yorkshire again today.
First stop Rievaulx Terrace. If we had done our research properly we would have known that it opens at 11 a.m. We were there at 10....
So onwards through the moor to Goathlands. When we saw the first cars parking just outside the village we parked there too. Little did we know that we had to walk for about 1,4 miles to the station. Oh well. That way we saved the parking fee of £2,50 close to the station. And we even were lucky. One train was waiting in the station and another one came along as we stepped on the platform. So we got a few nice shots.
To be honest: I didn't recognise the station as Hogmead. I have to watch the films again to remind me...
Next stop: Whitby. We parked close to the Abbey but didn't go inside. Just took a few pictures. We did go in the church close by and what a strange looking church it was. Never seen anything like it. Church of St. Mary it was. We thought about going down to the village but in the end we just sat on a bench overlooking the harbour. Very nice indeed.
Then we tried to go to Robin Hood Bay. We got to the village but all the car parks we full. That was a real shame. It's supposed to be really beautiful there. So we have to go back one day.
What we did was going back to Rievaulx and strolled around the Terrace and visited the two temples. That was nice and we had lovely views of the Abbey beneath it.
Another full day of sightseeing ended with a dinner in the Royal Oak.
