Up in the High Country

Back Blip from my overnight trip the the family Bach

After the meeting with the Insurance Company I headed for the hills for a few hours up at Lake Clearwater in the high country of Canterbury. We arrived later in the afternoon and by the time we unpacked and got things sorted out I took a walk around. The snow wasn't as deep as last time, thank goodness but there still was a lot there.

The weather hadn't been that good for photos as there was a lot of cloud around. I was hoping for a good sunset but that didn't happen as you can see in the first extra shot. In this shot you can see some of the other Baches.. (holiday homes). We are the only mad ones here as it can get so cold. The water was frozen..luckily we had some bottled water with us. Also the drains were frozen, so no water would go down. The Bach was wonderful and warm with the coal range going.

The other extra shots are of Baches and you can see our Bach with the smoke coming out of the chimney. We couldn't take the car down to the door as it was too muddy and icy. I took that one just after we arrived.

The meeting with the insurance company went well, but he didn't have all the facts straight as he hadn't included the double garage on the cash offer document. It seems a fair offer so far.. still a way to go yet! Luckily I had a woman from the CIAS that helps with clams as well as my son sit in on the meeting.
