Fabulous Wet Day!

It rained - so we went to Lanhydrock, the best and my favourite house! Everyone had the same idea for an indoor activity so we shuffled our way from room to room with people of every age and nationality! The place is enormous and every room is like the occupants have just left it. The table in the dining room is laid for dinner with bread rolls and sugared almonds in bowls, there are fresh vegetables in the Dairy, last specialist room from I think 6 others! It's extraordinary to see how people lived in such houses in the Victorian era - a whole set of rooms for the nursery including playroom, schoolroom, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, Governess room - the children rarely left these rooms! The lord and lady of the house had their own bedrooms, morning rooms, bathrooms, as well as an office and living room downstairs. There is the long gallery, dining hall, morning room, billiard room, smoking room - the list of rooms is endless! Plus the box room, servants locker room, bedrooms.Half way through the house my sister got hungry and had backache from shuffling slowly so we whizzed through the remaining ones and headed for food! As usual I chatted to the couple next to us, having eavesdropped on their conversation and adding quips as I saw fit! There was also a family, 2 couples, 2 children, could not work out if they were friends or if it was one of their parents.  One man was quite animated, but maybe very boring, as his wife sat unsmiling, eyes fixed far away, bored, bored, bored - with him, the place, the rain, her life - there were positively  waves of utter unhappiness coming from her.
I spent the evening processing with a break for food and chicken bedtime on the allotment - still raining! I had no idea what would be my blip, so after rejecting 25 of 111 I processed the rest, then deleted more on Flickr before finally - this one! Maybe because it is so simple and the processing of everything was not, as in long as so many and slow internet!! As I said to my sister, so hard to choose as obviously I liked them all as I had chosen to photograph  them!! I shall look at the ones I took last year to see if I have improved at all! At least they were all taken on manual this visit unlike last! next visit I must learn to take less - I really did try but honestly, the house is amazing -I did say to my sister about visiting and just doing one room. She thinks i am obsessed and totally barking! She could be right! She went to bed a long time ago - I gave up on thinking I would blip before midnight - it's now 2am!! My first backblip caused by running out of time not through no wifi! I think my sister is right!
The ones that passed the whittling down process are here, but even so there are near duplicates as simply couldn't choose, but still, 43 out of 111 not bad! Wonder how many I will take this time next year and whether they will be any better - see you same day same site next year...I hope!
