Mumm'y

Mother and, err, child?

A scene from the Marlowe Society's production of John Kinsella's "Plough Plays" in Grantchester this evening.

The 'plough plays' are loosely based on the traditional Mummers' Plays of English folk tradition - street theatre generally involving a good, evil, St George, and someone being killed and subsequently revived by some dodgy exotic medicine.

Dunno what they were smoking in the middle ages, but it probably isn't legal any more.

Kinsella's updated variant involves bulldozers, CEO's (evil, obviously, and threatening mother and 'child' above), and genetically modified organisms.

We were here because the Molly's were adding some colour to the performance; dancing between a couple of the plays.
