Cheerful yellow

We're all pretty familiar with the shrub that used to be known as Senecio greyi , more recently as S. 'Sunshine' and these days as Brachyglottis 'Sunshine',  but this is a lesser known species which is smaller, more compact and a little more elegant.

Brachyglottis monroi is a native of South Island, New Zealand, and is pretty hardy and a good wind resister which enjoys a sunny spot. The undulate leaves have a white felty underside and the brassy yellow flowers brighten up these all too common dull days!.
