Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

The Boys

The grandsons were dropped off this morning and the first thing they did was a treasure hunt designed by Fiona yesterday for them.  They got the clues but couldn’t find the treasure ( a flag)- even H failed. :-)!   When I came home from a quick (routine) blood test, I had to give them big hints- it was in plain sight.  Fiona will be delighted to hear this!!

Then off to the Henry Gallery and Martin Creed’s room full of balloons!   (see this previous blip for description)  We got there too early so had to wait in the cafe —but we were first in the huge room and this time we made it from one door to the other , close to one wall. - Oskar leading the way so fast we had to yell at him to STOP several times.  Glad to get thru -it’s very eerie.  ( they loved it:  the extra)

Then downtown to the Seattle Art Museum - they love to have lunch there with their great children’s menu (mac and cheese and chicken fries for these 2) - and a perusal of the most interesting exhibit  Disquises: masks & Global African Art…..    Lots of video I thought they’ d like - too hard to understand in amount of time we were there - but their favorite thing was the sound mixing where they got bits from many different African instruments of one artist's work to mix electronically for their own tune. ( the blip - I liked this color combo too - parallels the girls yesterday, including those electronic things!) )  While we were having lunch the storm started and it’s still pouring (yea!!) close to dinnertime.

On the way home we made a 10 minute stop at the other Seattle Asian Art Museum  (near where we live) to see the mural from yesterday's blip  (the other extra)   Which they also really liked.  Their Dad picked them up later this afternoon.

Now our visual senses are overloaded for a long while. ….. a fun day.     No kids tomorrow.  Back to the island peace on Sunday.
