Moated Manor House

BB was up in the night not feeling well.  Lots of tears, stomach cramps, but no vomit thankfully.  None of us slept well, and I was wakened by BB at 9.30am! He seemed much better and had some breakfast.  We let things settle for a while, but as he seemed fine we headed out to visit Oxburgh Hall, a wonderful 15th century moated manor house.  The rain was never far away, but we managed to have a lovely walk in the gardens and grounds before exploring the house itself.  The highlight was the priest's hole – which we all went into, and then BB went back to go in again.

As BB wasn't hungry, we had a late picnic in the gardens - which was most unexpected.  BB sought out some garden games and he had a great time with TT playing quoits.

Next stop was Castle Acre Priory – another delightful ruin in a delightful setting.  We weren’t so lucky this time as we explored it in the rain.  We all had an audio guide and I was amazed at how interested BB was in listening to it all the way round.  After the priory, we had a quick run around the castle ruins, before heading home.  I went for a very quick walk around the village, BB watched Star Wars 1, and there was no time for Wolf Hall, as we were too tired.

Here is Oxburgh Hall.  The extras are BB in the priest's hole at Oxburgh Hall and TT at Castle Acre Priory.
