The Burnhams

TT had a plan for the day that had to be shelved quickly.  After two mouthfuls of his cereal BB was crying with a sore tummy again.  Once settled he went back to bed and slept all morning.  We didn’t know what to do with ourselves, nor where this poorly tummy was going.

Thankfully he said he felt much better when he woke, and even ate a bit of lunch.  As the weather was half decent we headed to the Burnhams for a walk.  We started and ended at Gong Lane in  Burnham Overy Staithe, taking in Burnham Overy Town, skirting round Burnham Market, before heading to Burnham Norton and then back to the start.  We waited till the rain had gone off before we set off and had a pleasant walk – (apart from one path which had clearly been frequented on many, many occasions by a large dog) until we got to the last stretch through a corn field back to Burnham Overy Staithe.  The heavens opened, we had no shelter and even though we had waterproofs we were all pretty wet.

Once we were back in the car, the rain went off and the sun came out – typical.  We drove home via the village we stayed in last year.

BB watched Star Wars 2 and then we watched Wolf Hall.

Here are BB and TT walking towards the Tower Windmill, Burnham Overy Staithe - in the rain.
