Shakespeare's Verona

Apart from the opera, Verona's main tourist attraction is Shakespeare. The town is full of buildings supposedly lived in or frequented by Romeo and Juliet, and everywhere you go you see R&J themed places and merchandise (even our hotel has a Juliet room and a Romeo room). So it's no surprise to see this plaque inside the city walls:

"There is no world beyond Verona walls, but purgatory, torture, hell itself..."

It might have been taken out of context, but it seems appropriate somehow.
