Jamie at the Deli

This is a good news story for Sunday. Until last year this was a brilliant bakers shop. So handy as its just round the corner and the manageress was a horse racing expert and would swap tips with me. Anyway, it went bust and closed down over night. 

Then it was proposed to be a fried chicken wing take away. So depressing. But that was a change of use which needed planning permission and they got refused. Yippee!

Then nothing happened for a while but recently there has been a flurry of activity and it is being fitted out as the new Deli On The Green! Hooray. From the poster I think it is going to be really good- all the nice things that you would want including organic salads and Italian charcuterie* and cheeses.

I passed by this morning on the way to get the paper and there up the ladder is Jamie painting the fascia sign. It had to be the Blip for today.

It's opening on Saturday so I will report back.
