And we missed the flight...

The plan was to fly to Basel, Switzerland tonight at 6.20. The reality is simply we missed the flight. A first for everything!

Allowed our usual 3 1/2 hours but obviously didn't allow for an average speed on the M6 of 10 miles an hour, nor the 'Meet & Greet' part of the car parking deal I signed up to, forgetting the meet bit, nor that Security would take exception to the empty metal drinking bottle my daughter had, which needed to be tested and repeatedly scanned...but not until the next shift of staff came on regardless that we had a plane to catch! And do it went on and on until we arrived at the gate to watch the last passengers walking up the stairs and for us not to be allowed!

Next flight, Sunday! £260 later we had new flights and two days in Manchester to while the time away.

After Dominos Pizza delivery to the apartment we rented (a first for the girls, delivery pizza that is) and there was smiles all around and a group attitude to enjoy the bonus of a mini holiday pre holiday!
