Pictorial blethers

Something about a floppy dog ...

Actually there's something about this particular floppy dog that is universally appealing - those limp legs, that tousled fur caught my eye, after all, when I was a middle-aged woman with adult children and no grandchildren. It certainly appeals to 4 year old Anna, who went seeking it the moment she arrived today.

Perhaps it's the air of vulnerability in both floppy dogs and small children that meets a need in all of us to have someone - or something - to protect and care for?
