I reckon that being Swiss in the Victorian era was about as cool as being British; they clearly love all manner of things mechanical and if you can make a train, ship or clock for it it's a winner. Mountainous regions with lakes are therefore especially cool.

Off on the boat from Neuhaus to Spiez, look around the castle, lunch, back, lakeswim, ice cream, dinner, uno, bed. You're getting the routine by now.

The boat was remarkable for a number of reasons: the breeze was very welcome given the heat; the views were amazing (especially of the stereotypically Swiss lake-side houses with integral boat house); the boat was amazingly smooth and silent; and there was an epidemic of people posing for selfies. It's always amusing watching someone trying to throw a pose next to the edge of a boat, capture themselves and the background, do a duck face and take a photo. Skillz.
