Chetwode Arms....

Andy (of suit buying fame a few blips ago) and I decided to go out and eat this evening. He was a bit down yesterday so an evening out and a bit of a chat to put stuff into perspective seemed like a good idea.

We went to the Chetwode Arms which is a nice country pub at Lower Whitley on the A49 just south of Warrington. I remembered it as serving good English pub food. But it had changed and has been taken over by a South African couple who have developed an extraordinary menu based on all kinds of exotic meats.

The meat comes partially cooked on a hot stone and you can eat it as arrived or slice the meats and carry on cooking them to the way you want it on the stone. It was good fun.

I played safe with some wild boar and ordinary steak. Andy was surprisingly adventurous, going for ostrich and crocodile. The extra picture is Andy making friends with one of the pub's two German Shepherd dogs. Both seem to be enjoying the encounter.
