Strange that I've never noticed this local building before.  After all, it  has only been there since 1573.

According to the blue plaque on the side of the building, this Tudor hall housed the Free Grammar School of Queen Elizabeth I who granted its charter in 1573.

I can thank Blip for opening my eyes to this.
