Quod oculus meus videt

Our House

Ah, the 'pleasures' of being at the V Festival at Weston Park.  Arrived to glorious sunshine but within 30 minutes the first raindrops had started.  At one stage I was standing in the production area with many of the people in charge of the event watching as a massive storm approached, lightning arcing across the sky, rain sweeping across the festival site, wondering whether the event would have to be suspended.

Luckily that wasn't needed though it was close!

My main role was noise monitoring on the night and for us it was one of the quietest events in memory.  This was possibly due to the weather conditions as noise levels at the mixing desks were similar to last year.  It just didn't seem to travel out as much to surrounding villages.

This is the scene from within the main arena.  In the foreground is the sponsors 'house', where DJs blast out music for those in the area.  Behind the trees is the main stage, where the Script were coming to the end of their set.
