Jodrell Bank Observatory

A trip today to Jodrell Bank Observatory ( completed in 1957).The Lovell Telescope remains one of the world's largest steerable radio telescopes .
I enjoyed the clocks on display in the cafe . These explain the time on other planets. Here are a couple. For example in 'Venus time' a day takes 116:75 earth days to end ! Makes our 24 hrs seem a blink .The hands of this clock  will take 116:75 days  to turn through 24 hours. Note the clock face .Venus spins in the opposite direction to Earth . Now on Jupiter a Jovian day is but 9 hours 55mins , 33 seconds. It really does spin .
I think planet earth is ideal for me . Not too long, not too short ,just right.
Note ..all clock faces were blipped around 14:36 BST
