Botanic gardens

Mike took this one of me and Matthew sitting in a tree - not sure how the swirly effect happened but I like it better than the more sensible ones.

We explored through the bamboo up the hill, the down and across the stepping stones, through the limestone garden, then across the lawn to the fountains with some really spectacular dragonflies. Round the maze, through a woodland walk I don't think I've been down before, found big pine cones that made our hands smell antiseptic. Sat in a tree, saw the swamp and then the dry garden, had lunch and an ice lolly, went through the glass houses and marvelled at the heat and humidity in the tropical ones - and said goodbye to the bees on the way out.

And then we went to the playground at Lammas Land too and had more fun. So a pretty nice day all told (just don't ask about how early he got up and how big a strop he had before napping from 8 til 10).
