my ipod has some corrupt tags - again. this means that the songs play for 2 seconds and then skip to the next, which does the same...

that means taking the 9000-odd songs back off the thing, onto a borrowed hard drive. re-tagging them and putting them back on

but the hard-drive froze at about 13Gb

looks like a weekend-long rescue bid...
