Wanderings & Witterings

Alexandra Park in Glasgow looks beautiful in the summer sunshine. The flower beds are so colourful and a lot of work seems to have gone into tending and maintaining them.

When I went for a walk around the park yesterday afternoon there were lots of people of all ages sitting on the grass, walking or cycling around the park and just generally enjoying the rare warm summer day (there have not been too many of them recently).

One of the highlights of the park is the Saracen Fountain, cast in the Saracen Foundry, Glasgow and gifted to the city in 1901 following the International Exhibition in Kelvingrove Park. At the top of the fountain there is a depiction of three dolphins and I've used a close-up of them as my Blip for the day. The extra photo shows the fountain in all its summer glory.
