She's off

We had an awesome day today!!! We found a voucher for Doncaster dome so headed off for a day in their huge leisure pool and skating. The pool was awesome. Katie had a brilliant time on the slides and the rapids. We loved the family slide together. And she did some brilliant swimming in the bigger pool area. We had a picnic in their artificial beach. She played in the sand, climbed the giant deck chair.

Then we went to the afternoon skating session. Now, Katie has been to tots skating as a wee one. But never really wanted to go on actual skates. They were allowed on in their shoes. But today? Today she went on in ice skates for the first time. She started out quite timidly, clinging to me with both hands. With in half an hour that was down to her arms stretched out nicely and just holding my finger. Not much later, she had a go without holding on. And did brilliantly!! The times she fell, she got right on up and carried on. And she loved it!!

We got back in the car and went on over to ikea late afternoon. We picked up some gorgeous bits for her new room in the flat, she did the kids treasure hunt and we had tea. A very excellent day!!
