Bridge ballet

4years 307days

We had a lovely leisurely morning together, pottering round, watching a movie, playing. Doing the ice bucket challenge. Sigh. My 4year old godson thought of 4 people after his daddy challenged him to do it. He thought of his nana, his grandpops, his godmother and Katie. So do it we did. I was kind to Katie and did it with warm water! She nominated her cousin, friend and Max's mummy! I nominated her other cousin, so Katie was highly amused to see the results of those!!

Granny and Grandad arrived at lunchtime, with lunch. The plan had been to have a picnic, but we decided to picnic at home instead of carting it round. Katie decided the picnic should be on chairs in the garden. Then decided it should be in the lounge. So we picnicked on the floor (and it was very yummy!). We took Granny and Grandad over "the princess bridge" to the railway line. Grandad and Katie played together as we went. We climbed trees, scrambled banks, foraged blackberries, drew with sticks, picked flowers.... we had a wonderful time in the sunshine.

Katie had a few minutes dancing on the bridge on the way home. Everything is a ballet opportunity to my wee miss! As we headed for home, I took them to a fabulous blackberry spot and we finished up with two wonderful bags ready for crumbles, pies etc! Tea quickly thrown together, Katie and Grandad headed for a little play together before her bedtime came. We read a book from the next stage tonight. She was slightly unsure at first but so proud of herself when she discovered she in fact could make a super good effort with it! Happy wee miss tonight.
