In the Beginning

Started a new painting today in open studio. My aim is to create a companion for the one I just finished. I am still in the beginning. The red and gold colors are gesso painted as an under painting on the canvas. Until I have oil paint everywhere on the canvas the painting is in the "beginning." Once that happens, I'll be in the middle where most of the work is done. I was planning to post my reference photo but just remembered that extra photos don't work on an iPad. Wish they would fix that. Omigosh. I was able to do it this time. Happy dance.
