Finally a Canadian Citizen!

After almost 41 years living in Canada i was sworn in today and received my Canadian Citizenship!   It was such a wonderful ceremony, albeit a bit on the long side, as they usually are!  But it was outside in one of the main areas at Fortress Louisbourg which is such a dramatic place right on the ocean.   The sun shone, the wind was just enough to keep us cool...and blow over the large framed (very old!) photo of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh....the glass of course shattered, so then they returned it without the glass, but it kept blowing over!!!

A bit exhausted now cos it's quite a drive over there.   I was happily surprised to find 2 friends were also receiving theirs today, so we sat together!

Kinda nice to have such a formal ceremony to mark this occasion.  Most of the others were in fact 'new' Canadians....and apparently there were 40 of us from 19 different countries....pretty cool eh!!!
