Do Not ...

Wake me up at 1:40 a.m. with a shrieking false fire alarm.  Do not repeat the process one hour later.  Just.  Don't.

The first time we were deafened, we obediently stumbled down the twisty staircase, and found our way outside, where we were shortly joined by another sleepy guest of The Bear & Ragged Staff.  We stood there in the cold night air, buffeted by waves of high decibel noise for about five minutes, then ... silence.  No one came and told us it was safe to go back to bed, or why the alarm went off.  The second time, we lay in bed and swore at the bloody thing.  It stopped after about 30 seconds.  By this time, we were both WIDE awake.  I think we both finally drifted off again about half an hour before our 7:00 a.m. wake up call.

Good thing we're not doing much else today than sitting on an aircraft!
