Rosebay

Driving through the Pentland Hills to Edinburgh today, this was my constant companion. Every verge had a patch of Rosebay Willowherb. It used to be called a weed - an unwanted plant spreading from disturbed, waste places and 'taking hold' if allowed. Today, in this part of Scotland with plenty of space, I thought it created beautiful splashes of colour, especially against the gloomy green of conifer plantations.
