New Students Arrive! (For the last time....)

Around 250 new students arrived today, all starting their studies that will turn them into qualified teachers.
Since we don’t have a room big enough to accommodate so many we worked in the cafeteria with the various welcoming speeches held from the stairs.
Sadly this is the last such event here because next summer our campus will close and all activities will move to the campus at Sundsvall, 50 km south of here. This will bring a close to 350 years of higher education in Härnösand.
Ironically after the decision was taken the government expanded teacher education and it is debatable if there will actually be enough room in the new campus being constructed, which is considerably smaller than the present one here.
The best laid plans...
