Loco 90733 arriving at Oakworth

War Department (WD) Austerity 2 - 8 – 0 Loco 90733 was built in January 1945 by The Vulcan Foundry Ltd., Newton-le-Willows for the war effort. It was shipped to the continent where it  worked moving troops and supplies.   After the war. it served in the Netherlands, and finally in Sweden, where it was withdrawn from service in 1956.   It was purchased by the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in 1972 where it served until 1976 when it was withdrawn due to its rundown condition.   In 1993 it underwent extensive repair and restoration, returning to service in 2007.   It is now in regular use and one of the stalwarts of the line.
Many thanks to all lovely blippers who dropped by and left comments, stars and hearts for  yesterday’s upload of ‘Valley of Mist’.   Your kindness is appreciated.
