A pie with my name on it

Last day of the Folk Festival today but before that we had a lunch booked with another cousin and her husband at the Riverside Inn at Cound. If you ordered the pie it came with your name on it.

Ian's name is short and I tried to convince the server that his name was Christopher, just to have them on. When it was my turn to order I gave my name as Septimus, which she was about to write down when she realised it was another leg pull. They must get that all the time.

A rotten day for a bank holiday, mostly rain but always dull until the last knockings of the evening as the sun was setting. Golden light flooded across the fields, lighting up the trees and crops and the dark stormy backdrop. We were driving so there was nowhere to stop.

There were delays at the festival too, over an hour and changes to the running order so that we didn't see False Lights as we were expecting but the end of Folk Nation, the whole of Good Vibrations and the last act from Quebec, la Bottine Souriante who played a loud, energetic set of folk fusion music to give the Festival a rousing send off.

The last two acts were accompanied by excessive tap and ethnic dancing, one dancer, Sandy Silva, also from Canada specialised in percussive dancing and was on the go for over 2 hours. Not slow stuff but rapid, multi step tap which was fantastic.
