Down by the river

Walked into town again this morning, then to the river where we saw the Kentish Maid setting off towards Allington Lock, along the river to Hobbycraft for the wife to peruse paints and paper, up to Dunelm to look for curtain material and to price made to measure curtains (where we also enjoyed a very nice coffee, see extra) and finally to Rooks butchers to buy three packs of their award winning sausages.

The afternoon was spent in the kitchen, baking a sourdough loaf and bread rolls, making tomato sauce from our tomatoes and pickling beetroot. First time I've made sourdough, created the starter on Monday and made the loaf today. And very good it is too, so different to the regular white bread. Made a courgette lasagne for dinner, replacing the pasta with thin strips of courgette cut using the potato slicer. It was a recipe I found in Olive Magazine. And very good that was too.

Chris and De'Shaun's second wedding anniversary today, this is where we were on that day.
