A Mystery...

Two mysteries in fact.

The first one is for you to guess what you're looking at.

The second is for me to understand what has been happening....

The only thing to add is this is not a mono and I used 10mm extension tube. Unless you guess correctly I'll post one or both answers tomorrow.
