Moorland View

A day out to Whitby with our eldest grandson, and his girlfriend.
The heather looked so wonderful on the North York Moors, we stopped to have a look from our favourite parking spot.
 Had a cup of coffee and biscuits, and what a surprise, at that moment Sir Nigel Gresley came steaming through the valley on its way back to Pickering.The white smoke billowing behind.
Unfortunately my camera was in the back of the car. 
You can see the track in the valley bottom, but the train had gone by the time I took this photo.
However it still is a wonderful view.

After parking up on the West Cliffe, we walked down to the town, and first stop was for fish and chips at a nice cafe called The Fisherman's Wife, half way down the hill.
We had a nice table overlooking the bay, and a very tasty meal. Mushy peas for us but curry sauce for the younger generation!!

Next stop the amusement arcades! R & T had brought along a bag of 2ps. Lasted about 40mins! Couldn't resist having a go too!
Those pennies look as if they are definitely going to drop with the next coin, but never do!! R won about 60p but of course put it all back in.
Still very enjoyable, even if infuriating!

A walk round the old town, looked in the Jet museum, and several galleries, and quaint shops. 
A walk on the pier.
Finished with ice cream.

Back home feeling quite tired, but all had a great time!
