It seems to be five !

We are favoured with a second brood this year in
our old barn. Fortunately accommodation had been
provided at both ends as they insist on a new home
to give them a clean start ! Understandably if you
could see the depth of their old "carpet" which I dig
up occasionally outside the nesting season and apply
to Rose beds with excellent results !The Barn Owls,
which have lived in their Burniston home for as long
as I can remember, lay up to nine white eggs and generally
up to five hatch out. This second time it seems to be five judging by the claws so allowing for maybe five in the
first brood - I only saw the eggs -this site is doing its bit for
launching many of these beautiful birds into the air and keeping my Roses blooming!
