Old town Dubai

We arrived last night in Dubai around midnight, so apart from the light ads it was difficult to see what the country looked like and today was a bit of a revelation. It depends completely to which side you look (our hotel room looks over the hotel's swimming pool complex, the Dubai Creek, the inlet of the Persian Gulf, and the Dubai Creek Golf Club with in the distance a whole area filled with mainly high rise but lots of green around the hotel. On other sides there is either very modern architecture, sand or building activities and practically no green. Oh, and it is rather hazy, dusty and warm - can you believe it ;-) -

As today is the only day that my husband has the day off we went to do some sightseeing together. The Dubai Museum is in the old part of Dubai, located in the oldest existing building of Dubai, in the Al Fahidi Fort. Underneath the fort they've made a modern museum with dioramas to explain more about the history of this Emirate . It was very interesting. I'm looking forward to discover more of the old town ....(but did I tell you that it was hot??  )

Thanks very much for your comments and stars :-) I'm going to try to catch up now
