Imprisoned Cows

No, really.

These beautiful Bambi-like Guernsey/Jersey cows are on on Hollesley Bay Colony land - once the largest prison farm in Britain. I walked six miles of field and estuary there this morning where I saw these cows, a pair of herons , some very very lovely black pigs and (of course) the famous Suffolk Punches that are bred here

Actually the powers that be sold most of the land off in 2006, although a bit is still retained. I'm not sure whether these are bona fide Prison cows or merely cows that are cribb'd cabin'd and confin'd by barbed wire.

Either way, its a lovely place to be imprisoned in, tho I'm not sure Jeffrey Archer - Hollesley Bay's most recent alumnus - totally appreciated it
