hug a hoodie

I had lots of encouragement after yesterday's blip, which was good because it was a bad night for sleep,  (she tends to go to sleep between 8:30 and 9:00 followed shortly after by us at about 10:00... then she wakes for the first time about 1:30 am and then can wake another 3-4 times until she is finally standing up in her cot ready to start the day between 5:30 and 6:30 in the morning...)

However despite this, today has been a lovely day...

We went to a castle, we played in the park and I had another nap this morning which was very much needed....

We also managed to wash her hair this morning... (it smells great and is a whole different colour now...)  We got her into the bathroom on her little car, whilst fully clothed, wrapped a big towel around her, so her neck wouldn't get wet, and then washed her hair with a sponge (carefully avoiding her face), whilst singing and dancing and shaking maracas to distract her... the side effect of the hair wash is that she now has a new favourite tune, and we have accidentally taught her how to say Tequila!

She's well worth the effort but nothing is straight forward... I am however not going to wish it away... in the time that she's lived with us, she's already had a growth spurt, and is now in the next size of clothes, she's filled out at bit, she's learnt new words and phrases, (pile on, please, in a minute, sock witch, puffin) she's become stronger and more agile and has developed new skills such as matching pictures and threading beads, and is starting to do the actions to favourite nursery rhymes...so much development in such a short space of time... I'm going to make the most of the cuddles as she'll be a teenager and a proper hoodie before I know it..
