A change of scene

We weren't exactly quick off the mark this morning after our late night. But we did manage to leave the house by 11 a.m. to set off on our little adventure. Driving in a leisurely fashion with a couple of stops to admire the scenery, we arrived in Biescas, in the Aragonese Pyrenees, at about 5. We'd already identified a cheap and cheerful hotel via Trip Advisor, so we checked in and had a little wander around town, pausing for a glass of wine. To our surprise the tourist office was open on a Sunday evening between six and eight, so we collected some information and returned to the hotel to digest it.

Then it was off to Gouda, a Dutch-run tapas bar. Over-indulgence during the last few days meant we restricted ourselves to a plate of ham, some pan con tomate, and a shared piece of cheesecake. Oh, and the artisan ice cream we impulse-bought on the way back to the hotel.

Extras: a street in Biescas, and yet another "through a glass" experiment.
