The Red Chrysanthemum of Love.

Red  chrysanthemums  symbolise LOVE but the yellow one is for SLIGHTED LOVE and the white is for TRUTH AND LOYALTY. Originally from Eurasia, in 400 AD, Buddhist monks brought them to Japan. The Emperors loved them so much that they sat upon chrysanthemum thrones and still have chrysanthemum festivals The leaves are edible and made into tea they are a relaxant.  The flowers are also used in some medicines and an insecticide, for bookworms in particular. This surprised me as they can kill or cure it seems. They are lasting well in my vase and there is one more, a pale pink, for the next time I am busy indoors.
