The Chinese Bridge.

One of Godmanchester's best known features is the Chinese Bridge which connects the town with a water meadow and gardens on an island and spans a mill stream on the river Great Ouse. The original footbridge, designed in a Chinese style was built in 1827 and was replaced by a replica in 1960 due to it's decay. That bridge was removed by crane on Feb 9th 2010 and an exact copy which had been built off site was then installed on Feb 16 2010. My daughter and I were visiting my granddaughter and her family and had been out for a traditional Sunday lunch in the garden of a pub called The Exhibition, which I thought was an unusual name. There wasn't time to explore the island on this trip, but we hope to go across next time we are nearby.
